People working together – it's a YMCA tradition.

A Tradition of Volunteers

YMCAs are one of the nation’s leading volunteer organizations.  Volunteers have always played a critical role in helping the YMCA fulfill our mission of service to the community and to everyone who comes through our doors.  Hundreds of individuals volunteer their time and talents to YMCA Southcoast each year as coaches, mentors, group leaders, teachers and as workers on community service projects.  When you are a volunteer at the YMCA, you are part of a not-for-profit organization dedicated to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities through programs that develop spirit, mind and body for all.

We could not make it without them.  Volunteers increase our ability to raise money, organize programs, and assist with special events.  Involving volunteers is essential to our success and ensures that our YMCAs are accessible to people of all ages, incomes, abilities, religions and ethnic backgrounds.  Drawing interested and active people into our association  increases our effectiveness and keeps the YMCA relevant and vital.

We welcome any skill or time you can offer, and we look forward to working with you! To volunteer, call or stop by the front desk of the YMCA Southcoast branch nearest you or contact Jo-Ann Watson at 508-295-9622, Ext. 15.
