The Preschool program services children ages 2.9 – 5 years old in an environment that promotes and enhances early learning, independence, and success in young children. The program is NAEYC Accredited, licensed by The Department of Early Education and Care, and an active member of New Bedford’s Community Partnerships for Children. Preschoolers enrolled at the YMCA attend a half hour swim lesson each week.

All children who enroll in the preschool are exposed to “The Creative Curriculum” as well as “The Land of the Letter People” curriculum, ultimately providing preschoolers with the tools necessary for kindergarten. Implementation of age appropriate activities, child profiles, and individual assessments are all put into practice by our EEC Certified teaching staff so that the needs of each child may be met.

The New Bedford YMCA preschool does not offer transportation, and so parents are responsible for both drop off and pick up of children  Please contact Jodi Lynn Machado with any questions in reference to preschool and/or enrollment.
