YMCA SOUTHCOAST OFFERS EMERGENCY CHILDCARE

Three YMCA SOUTHCOAST locations have been approved as an Emergency Child Care Center offering Drop-In Emergency child care. Please see the contact information below for the Emergency Child Care Centers at Gleason Family YMCA, New Bedford YMCA, and Stoico/FIRSTFED YMCA.

Space is limited and mandatory 'Essential Service' employee verification must be provided.

To prepare for arrival, please download the documents in the QUICK LINK above; fill out and bring them with you.

Spaces will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis for eligible participants.

DONATE NONPERISHABLE FOOD TO SUPPORT THOSE IN NEED

As part of our partnership to fight food insecurity across our region, YMCA SOUTHCOAST is working with the United Way of Greater New Bedford’s Hunger Commission to collect donated food to help the increased demand at area food pantries.

There will be bins available in the designated space to leave your donation. Please follow CDC guidelines for COVID-19 safety. Practice Social
Distancing at all times.

DONATION GUIDELINES:
• We accept all non-perishable, sealed, unexpired food.
• We prefer non-glass containers for the safety of staff/volunteers.

FALL RIVER MOBILE MARKET

The Fall River Y has partnered with the Greater Boston Food Bank to offer a temporary “Mobile Market” at the Fall River YMCA 10:30am on the following dates:

• Saturday, May 30th
• Thursday, June 4th
• Wednesday, June 10th
• Thursday, June 18th

Additional dates will be added as needed.

This is a ‘No Contact’ drive-thru pick-up. CDC Safety Guidelines will be followed at all times. Everyone must practice six feet of separation between individuals
or ‘Social Distancing’. Food items will be pre-packaged, and distribution will take place 100% OUTSIDE at the Fall River Y. Trunks must be accessible and clear enough for 2 grocery bags.

Y WITHOUT WALLS

YMCA SOUTHCOAST has expanded beyond our facilities to a virtual wellness program. Our 'Y Without Walls' now includes nearly 2,000 followers who join the Y daily for a robust menu of virtual group exercise programs, nutrition coaching, and essential community connection through our Facebook Group. HEALTHY HYGIENE

New Bedford, Fall River, and Gleason Family YMCA opened the Y for the homeless population to shower and practice safe hygiene.

NEW BEDFORD YMCA Shower Hours:
Tuesdays & Fridays: 6:00am-7:30am.
Wednesdays: 4:30pm-6:00pm.

Guests must have their temperature taken before admittance. We are issuing masks that need to be worn and maintaining social distance. Out of respect for time, we are asking for a 15-20 minute maximum time to shower and depart.

FALL RIVER YMCA Shower Hours:
Mondays: 9:00am-1:00pm by appointment only.

GLEASON FAMILY YMCA Shower Hours:
Tuesday & Thursday: 2:00pm - 4:00pm.

THE DIETITIAN IS IN

It is important to for us to stay connected now more than ever, so we can continue to support each other as a YMCA Community. That is why Maddy, our registered dietitian nutritionist, is offering virtual office hours! Grab a drink or your favorite snack and call in to chat with her. You are welcome to bring specific nutrition questions or you can call just for a wellness check in. Her virtual office hours are as follows:

Mondays & Tuesdays: 9:30 - 10:00 am
Wednesdays & Thursdays: 3:30 - 4:00 pm
