Event Details
We invite you to join us for We Wear Black, on Friday, Ferbuary 27, 2026. We wear black to celebrate 100 years of Black History month and the outstanding contributions of African Americans to our local communities and the country. We wear black to stand against injustice and racism. We wear black as a symbol of hope, awareness, and togetherness. We wear black to share our commitment to inclusion and equity for all.
The YMCA’s National African American Resource Network (AARN) cast a vision in 2018 with this initiative for all YMCA’s across the country. The AARN acknowledges the history of racism in the U.S. which permeates many systems. We acknowledge we must work in solidarity against all forms of social inequity. The Y’s commitment to serving all, aligns with this important work.
