Access to all YMCA facilities and programs is limited to registered participants and active members.  All members are required to present a current, valid membership card when using the Y’s facilities and programs.  Membership cards are not transferable.

As a member of the YMCA, you are agreeing to follow the policies, procedures, and appropriate behaviors for the safety and comfort of all persons and guests.

Member Code of Conduct

The Y is committed to providing a safe, caring, healthy, and respectful environment for all members and guests. To promote safety and comfort for all, all individuals are asked to act appropriately at all times when in our facility and or participating in our programs.

We expect persons using the Y to act maturely, to behave responsibly, and to respect the rights and dignity of others. The following conduct can lead to suspension or termination of membership:

    1. Using or possessing illegal chemicals or alcohol on Y property, in Y vehicles, or at Y-sponsored programs or events.
    2. Carrying or concealing a weapon or any device or object that may be used as a weapon.  Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, or any type of menacing behavior.
    3. Physical contact with another person in an angry, aggressive, or threatening way.
    4. Verbally abusive behavior, including angry or vulgar language, swearing, name-calling, or shouting.
    5. Sexually explicit conversation or behavior; any sexual contact with another person.
    6. Inappropriate, immodest, or sexually revealing attire.
    7. Theft or behavior that results in the destruction or loss of property.
    8. Loitering or smoking within or on the grounds of the Y.

Members and guests are encouraged to take responsibility for their personal comfort and safety by asking any person whose behavior threatens their comfort to refrain from such behavior.  Anyone who feels uncomfortable in confronting a person directly should report the behavior to a staff person or the building supervisor on duty.

YMCA Southcoast reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who has been accused or convicted of any crime involving sexual abuse, is or has been a registered sex offender, has ever been convicted of any offense relating to the use sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or habit-forming and/or dangerous drugs, or is presently or habitually under the influence of dangerous drugs or chemicals, narcotics or intoxicating beverages.

Monthly Dues Payment

Checking Account Bank Draft or Credit Card Draft

By using a monthly automatic draft, payment will be electronically deducted from your checking or credit card on an ongoing monthly basis on the 1st or 15th. When you join the Y online, your membership will be drafted by credit card or from your checking account. Please visit your local Y branch for an orientation and to pick up your membership card.  *In the online enrollment process, please select the monthly billing cycle. 

Membership Dues & Joiner Fees
All memberships incur a one-time Joiners Fee for processing.  The Joiners Fee is due at the time of member enrollment.  Membership dues are paid monthly through a monthly draft.  All membership dues, once paid are non-refundable. The monthly draft plan allows a member to pay for a continuous membership in equal monthly payments that are automatically deducted from one’s checking or credit card account for as long as one belongs to the Y.  Monthly membership can be canceled in writing 30 days prior to the draft date.  The Y will give you 30 days' notice prior to any membership dues increase.


In consideration of gaining membership or being allowed to participate in the activities and programs of the Y and to use its facilities, equipment, and machinery, in addition to any fee or charge, I do hereby waive, release, and forever discharge the YMCA and its officers, agents, employees, representatives, (collectively “the YMCA”), from any and all responsibilities or liability for injuries or damages to myself, including those caused by the negligent act or omission of the YMCA, or in any way arising out of or connected with my participation in any activities at the YMCA or the use of any equipment at the YMCA. I give permission for the YMCA to take photographs for use in YMCA promotional materials while I/we participate at YMCA Southcoast facilities. I agree to adhere to all policies set by the Y.

I understand that clicking that I agree, constitutes my signature and demonstrates acceptance of the Membership Agreement terms and conditions in their entirety as presented on this page. I also understand that these conditions are in effect throughout my membership with YMCA Southcoast, during any interruption of membership, and following the reinstatement of membership. I am responsible to communicate the terms and conditions of the Membership Agreement to all members of the Membership Unit, regardless of age.

  • Free day use of lockers (with your own lock)
  • Special member rates on all programs, including child care, and summer camp; priority registration on all program enrollment before the general public

Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating Y in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home location is the facility that enrolled you as a member and that collects your membership dues). We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our cause of strengthening communities.

  • Valid for active, full facility YMCA members
  • Nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time
  • Program-only participants and special memberships are not eligible for Nationwide Membership



Receive up to $150 back on your membership from Blue Cross|Blue ShieldFallonTufts, or Harvard Pilgrim. Ask at the Welcome Center for details or click on the respective health care provider for the claim form. Some restrictions may apply, contact your provider for details.




Joining the YMCA Southcoast is easy and offers great value — a wide variety of programs and classes, (many included with membership), and knowledgeable, caring staff to help members of all ages grow in spirit, mind, and body. A Y corporate membership consists of a minimum of 10 individuals who have a common employer. Employees are eligible for a 10% savings on a full-year membership. Please call 508.996.9622 for more information.



Free Senior Adult Memberships are available to individuals enrolled in Silver & Fit, Tufts Senior Plan, or United HealthCare/Renew Active, who are age 65 or older. You must present your qualified health card when you are activating your new membership. United Health Care members must have a confirmation code.  Please call the number on the back of your medical card, to see if you qualify, and then stop by the Welcome Center of your local Y for more information.


*One Adult Family Household:
One adult and dependent children 25 and younger living in the same household are included in a family membership. Proof of residence required.

*Two Adult Family Household:
Two adults and dependent children 25 and younger living in the same household are included in a family membership. Proof of residence required.


Additional adults living in the same household, who are not dependents of the family, may be added to a Family Household Membership for an additional fee. Proof of residence required.

Financial Assistance

If you’ve been thinking that you can’t afford to be part of the Y – think again! At YMCA Southcoast, we welcome everyone’s involvement by providing financial assistance through our Financial Assistance Program. It’s an important part of our mission.

You can download the Financial Assistance Application by clicking the button below. Complete the application, attach the necessary documentation, and return it to your Y branch. All applications are kept strictly confidential.


Your Y’s Membership Director will review your financial information and based on a sliding fee scale, determine the amount of assistance that will be offered to you. You will receive a letter regarding your assistance within one week of the Y receiving your application.



This program is funded through our Annual Campaign and through the United Way.

We are committed to this simple policy: No one will be turned away due to their inability to pay for Y programs, camps or memberships. Please complete the YCares application and return to your local YMCA Southcoast branch in Dartmouth, Fall River, Mattapoisett, New Bedford, Swansea, or Wareham.


YMCA Southcoast will not tolerate members, guests, staff, or visitors participating in or supporting any of the following behaviors: stealing, swearing, bullying, violence, aggression or weapons (threatening use of or carrying a weapon), drugs, alcohol, or tobacco (use or possession of on Y property), vandalism, and sexual harassment. Therefore, the Y retains the right to deny membership to its applicants and to revoke a membership of any current member or participant at its sole discretion.

Please do not drop off children under the age of 12. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

EFT Draft Membership Agreement Form

  • EFT draft is a continuous membership plan. I understand that this membership will remain in effect if I retain the membership card issued to me and that if I wish to terminate or change my membership in any way, I must give the YMCA a 30-day written notice. I understand that I must turn in all my membership cards for the balance of the time I have paid or will be paying. The YMCA may, at their discretion, adjust the monthly rate applicable to my category of membership. I understand that I will receive at least four weeks notice prior to any such change.
  • I understand that I am still responsible for any payment plus the YMCA will apply a service charge of $20.00 should an EFT draft be declined by my bank or other financial institution. This is in addition to any fee charged by my bank or other financial institution.
  • I hereby authorize YMCA Southcoast to initiate electronic fund entries from my checking account or credit card(s). This authorization remains in effect until the YMCA has received a 30-day written notification from me indicating my desire to discontinue my membership.
