As a YMCA volunteer, your time and talent goes a long way. You can lead a program, serve as a role model for young people, help with a special event, campaign for annual support, or be a part of a committee working to make the YMCA the best it can be! No matter how you help you’ll make a big difference as you work with others to create a feeling of connectedness in your community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • After School Care.
Help kids develop socially and academically with volunteering as a mentor or tutoring.

  • Basketball League, Flag Football League, and Swim Team.
We are always looking for extra coaches and assistant coaches to assist in our extra activities at the Y.

  • Child Care: Preschool
We can always use more hands to help our preschool teachers with story time or leading projects.

  • Full Plate Project: Y Community Markets.

We depend on volunteers to help accept delivery and sort, pack, and distribute food to those in need.

  • Youth In Government.
Leaders are developed by doing, the YMCA’s Youth and Government Program’s motto is that “Democracy must be learned by each generation.” The goal of the program is to create the next generation of thoughtful, committed, and active citizens. We are always in need of mentors to guide our youth.

  • Youth Leaders Club.
A program is designed to offer young adults the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they provide volunteer service within the Y and their community. Sessions and events are balanced with value discussions, peer relationship building, and programs targeted at managing all aspects of a young adult’s daily life.

The Y is always looking for greeters, assistance with filing, and other general office tasks – especially during fundraising campaigns and member drives! Get to know the Y through outreach, making calls, and thanking donors.

Would you like to volunteer at your local branch? We need greeters to welcome members and assist with tours of the facility to help new members build their Y community.

  • N.O.W. (Nutrition On Weekends).
We depend on volunteers to receive, sort, and pack food and grocery products that are bagged and distributed to students in need of a resource for nutrition, over the weekend, when schools are not there to provide meals.

  • Sharing the Harvest Community Farm.
Planting seeds in the greenhouse, transplanting seedlings into the fields, cultivating crops and harvesting mature plants are just a few of the jobs we rely on volunteers for!
