Sharing the Harvest community farm
FIELD TRIPS & GROUPS
Sharing the Harvest Farm is now offering field trips for second and third graders from April – June 2023. The field trips have two parts:
- Schedule a 45-minute classroom visit by a STH farmer/educator to talk about seeds and farming with students and to provide materials for students to plant their own peat pots with bean, marigold, and/or nasturtium seeds.
- Schedule a trip to the farm, four weeks later, where students will tour the fields, visit a frog pond, sample herbs and spring veggies in the Children’s garden, transplant their seedlings (optional), and examine pollinators at work. Groups are welcome to bring their lunch to the farm. Field trips will last approximately 2 hours.
Cost: $5 per students, no charge for teachers and chaperones
Limit: 60 students per farm visit
Scheduling is on a first come first serve basis.
